COVID-19 and the latest restrictions have caused many challenges to our organisation and to the women and children for whom home is not safe. We are seeing the impact through the increased demand for our services. We are particularly concerned with the level of need once restrictions ease and women can access services. We need your help to be able to support more families.
If you want to make something more accessible, Yeah! Yoga created an incredibly fun and accessible challenge: each day participants would take a photo of one yoga pose. It got a ton of community engagement, brought attention to their work, and brought on individual fundraisers.
three walking challenges
- INDIVIDUAL – 76,000 steps per week (in honour of the 76 women and children that lost their lives to domestic violence in 2020).
- TEAM/FAMILY – 1.6 million steps in the month of October (to represent the 1.6 million women who have experienced physical or sexual violence by a current or previous partner since the age of 15).
- COMPANY – 2.2 million steps in October (to represent the 2.2 million women who have experienced emotional abuse by a current or previous partner since the age of 15).
Auctions yield high returns on investment for midsize organizations and are easier to plan. For small organizations, the return on investment is relatively good but requires more planning. For larger organizations planning auctions are difficult to plan with little return on investment.
